The journey began in 1969 when Amitabh Bachchan made his first appearance in K.A Abbas’s Saat Hindustani. Ever since then, this living legend has not put a halt to entertaining his audience. Amitabh Bachchan has ruled over the hearts of generations and has adapted himself to the times of each decade effectively. It’s been 40 years now and people are still crazy about every word, every movie and even every appearance Big B makes before them. For a man    with a fan following so high, there can seldom be a day when people would not want to watch him on screen again and again and again.

The versatility he has shown in his roles over the 40 years gives tough competition to not just the actors of today but his performances are also a benchmark for the debutants of the future. The simplest example for this is the debutant star cast of Teen Patti, AB’s upcoming movie, who have said in all their interviews that to step in the industry with Mr.Bachchan is like a dream that every new comer has, but only the lucky ones get to live it.

4 decades in the film industry, this living legend has more than 100 films under his arm and trust me he still doesn’t stop. The last time I met him at the 16^th Annual Star Screen Awards, his grace and power to mesmerize was just the same like what it was years back when I first met him at his old house in New Delhi. 40 years in the film world is just the beginning and this man whom we all completely adore is here for many more decades to come.
